In a column entitled “Senator Frist in a fluster over Democrats filibuster” in The Irish Times (conservative/liberal Irish newspaper of record) today, the paper’s US correspondent Conor O’Clery addresses the renewed fuss brewing in the US about allegations of fraud in the presidential elections of last November.
See excerpt below.
I am naturally delighted that O’Clery has come good on a promise to give the matter some attention, following messages about the statistical analysis and Clint (…)

Blair, Damaged by Role in Iraq War, Faces Judgment on Character
7 April 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
10 commentsFour months after British and American soldiers invaded Iraq in 2003, U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair received a gold medal and standing ovation from the U.S. Congress as he pledged, You’re not going to be alone.’’
To Americans, Blair, 51, is the most stalwart of allies, winning him popularity ratings that any U.S. politician would envy — 76 percent in a November 2003 Gallup poll. At home, it’s another story. Critics deride him as untrustworthy, and taunt him as President George W. (…) -

There are much larger number of photos, and much larger number of abuses were not photographed. The Iraqis themselves know the size of these brutal crimes. The inhuman acts have initiated violent (…)

25 February 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsA MILITARY court today found two British soldiers guilty of abusing Iraqi prisoners in acts depicted in a series of sickening photographs.
The behaviour of Mark Cooley and Daniel Kenyon and two other soldiers was described as "brutal", "cruel" and "revolting" by the military judge.

Oil brokers trade blows with eco-warriors
18 February 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
3 commentsBy James Sturke
Greenpeace campaigners, not a group of people unaccustomed to flying in the face of danger, were forced into a tactical retreat yesterday after feeling the wrath of angry oil traders.
On the day the Kyoto Protocol came into force, 35 eco-warriors stormed the Interna- tional Petroleum Exchange [IPE] in the City. Armed with fog horns, rape alarms and whistles they tried to stall business by creating a deafening noise that made it impossible for the traders to work. But the (…) -
Bush and Condi Failed US on 9/11-The Security of our Country is Severely in Danger
13 February 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsWith the news that President Bush and his administration knew of impending suicidal airplane attacks on American soil and did nothing about it directly indicates a dangerous ineffectiveness and incompetence to protect America.
The failure to implement internal security for our country compounds our inability to secure America. After 911, few safe guards were implemented to protect our national security. Our boarders are not protected, our nuclear and chemical plants are not adequately (…) -

See their disgust for democracy
TONIGHT America exports a sight more obscene, costly and unnecessary than Jackie Stallone’s face.
The lavish $40million presidential coronation of a thick little rich kid is guaranteed to trawl the depths of bad taste, giving us cynical Brits another chance to look down on an emotionally-deficient nation celebrating the re-election of a mentally-deficient primate.
Well laugh until you fall off your high horses, folks, (…)
