The case of Wikipedia entry for blogger Robert Eringer shows how reputation on the free knowledge site is fought for with all the tools of the dark arts.
Wikipedia was such a lovely and simple idea – knowledge gathered, shared and improved by the online population. But with its popularity came its downfall: the free encyclopedia with its over 4.6 million articles has become a battleground for pressure groups and “reputation managers” to present their sides of a story, or to erase (…)

SOME HARD FACTS ABOUT TERROR
27 October 2014SOME HARD FACTS ABOUT TERROR John Chuckman
We are having an outbreak of reports in the Canadian press about “home grown” terrorists, “radicalized” young men of Muslim faith traveling out of the country to participate in extremist groups abroad, a relatively insignificant phenomenon which has received inordinate publicity. In any event, if you give the matter some thought, you realize that this “news” is a kind of empty publicity, noise about something as old and familiar as human life (…) -
South Wales Police Face Fresh Complaint Of Fraud And Misrepresentation
27 October 2014Officers seconded to the Home Office/UKBA entered prison under false pretence in a scheme to bury serious complaint
As was reported by WireNews+Co in December 2010, an Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) complaint had been recorded against UKBA officer Stephen Jones (DC3594) and ’his boss’, who as it turned out was UKBA officer Stephen Evans (PS269). No action was taken and an appeal to the IPCC was denied.
After nearly 4 years, a fresh complaint has been recorded today (…) -
Cardiff County Court Judges Involved In MoJ Cover-Up
26 October 2014As reported in April 2014, His Honour Judge Seys Llewellyn QC (Llewellyn) was asked to recuse himself in a long-running lawsuit against the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), the Chief Constable of the South Wales Police, the Home Office/UKBA (UKBA) and recently, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
’His Honour’, Llewellyn, ignored the request.
Cardiff County Court has a long history of corruption as does Llewellyn, perhaps for mutually complimentary reasons.
The claim (1PD 00179), issued in (…) -
South Wales Police In Ploy To White-Wash UKBA Officers’ Behaviour
26 October 2014In November 2010 an IPCC complaint was recorded against UKBA officer Stephen Jones (DC3594) and ’his boss’, who as it turned out was UKBA officer Stephen Evans (PS269).
As reported by WireNews+Co in December 2010, these two officers were actively involved in a campaign of intimidation aimed at Greg Smith and his family. A claim for damages is currently working its way through a thoroughly corrupt Cardiff County Court (1PD 00179) regularly thumping into obstacles under the ’guidance’ of no (…) -
Gunmen in Ottawa: Questioning Canadian Militarism
23 October 2014*Media Coop - Stefan Christof*
"Today the gunmen in Ottawa that we need to be deeply concerned about, that need to be stopped, are the Conservative politicians who have no political principles and push war as a solution.
Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper is a dangerous and real gunman, deploying and assisting major military campaigns around the world, inherently deepening the militarization of Canadian foreign policy..."

Greens uphold but Coalition & Labor destroy humane agenda of Oz PM Whitlam
23 October 2014Courageous, anti-racist social humanist and former Australian Prime Minister, Gough Whitlam (1916-2014), has died at the age of 98. Gough Whitlam was a courageous, intelligent and visionary social democrat who transformed Australia in 3 short years (1972-1975) before his removal in a US-backed Coup. Whitlam gave Australia womens rights, equal pay for women, no fault divorce, Aboriginal rights, Aboriginal land rights in the Northern Territory, universal free access to health services and (…)

UNCANNY PARALLELS IN CHARACTER
20 October 2014UNCANNY PARALLELS IN CHARACTER John Chuckman
I’m not one of those who scribble blunt little mustaches on pictures of politicians I dislike, but here I make some uncomfortable and I believe accurate observations comparing personality and character traits of a contemporary politician with one of history’s darkest figures.
I don’t know whether anyone else has noticed the fact that Benjamin Netanyahu and Adolph Hitler share uncomfortably similar personality and character traits. Certainly (…) -
THE TRAGEDY OF MODERN DEMOCRACY
10 October 2014THE TRAGEDY OF MODERN DEMOCRACY John Chuckman
I read and heard about Hong Kong’s students putting themselves at risk demonstrating for democracy, and my first instinct was sympathy, sympathy for their passionate idealism, but sympathy in another sense too, for their sad illusions. I ask myself, and it is not a trivial question, what is it exactly that they believe they fight for? Democracy has become such a totemic word, we all are trained to revere it, unquestioningly, almost the way 16th (…) -
New anti-Muslim Australian anti-terrorism laws grossly violate human rights
8 October 2014In a climate of US-inspired “terror hysteria” the extreme right wing Australian Coalition Government with the support of the right wing Labor Opposition has war criminally re-invaded Iraq and passed draconian anti-terrorism legislation that makes Australia a secret police state with Australian Intelligence officers (e.g. of the Australian Security and Intelligence Organization, ASIO) having criminal and civil immunity from prosecution, and reportage on any special intelligence operations (…)
