Since October 19, 2005, the slow progress of Saddam’s first trial has descended into mayhem. The circumstances surrounding the trial and the court proceedings have raised serious doubts about the fairness and legitimacy of the Iraqi Special Tribunal.

THE REAL PAT FITZGERALD

4 comments" The end result was a mixed bag for Fitzgerald. While a grand jury found the Gambinos guilty of jumping bail , it was deadlocked on the other charges..... Jerry Capeci , editor of Ganglandnews.com , said " it was hung 11-1 for conviction and they (The Gambinos ) copped pleas....the feds suspected that the holdout had been bought ........ Capeci found it interesting that both guys ( Pat Fitzgerald and James Comey) became US Attorneys in the two major cities in the country (Chicago and NY (…)

Tribute to a National Hero

RAF Flight Lieutenant Malcolm Kendall-Smith, having refused to serve in Iraq in what he correctly believes is an occupation brought about by an illegal war, is predictably given an 8-month prison sentence, fined £20,000 costs and dismissed from his job. Kendall-Smith, now a national hero, follows in the steps of Ben Griffin who resigned from the Army SAS in a similar protest.
Despite all the pompous huffing and puffing from a few military wallahs rolled-out for the occasion the fact (…) -

By Sara Flounders Co-Director, International Action Center, NYC
March 16, 2006—In the summer of 2004 I met with former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic in Scheveningen prison when I was approved as a defense witness. Cannabis is illegal by mistake.
3 April 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsIt was added to a list of proscribed substances in an act of crass stupidity by a junior apparatchik during the 1920’s.

Cannabis is called weed for a single reason: if it gets the chance it will grow anywhere. From that position (…)
