    Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi was confronted by a hostile audience this week at an event in Trento, Italy, where he spoke at a conference on economics. The "No Dal Molin" movement from Vicenza, Italy, which is opposing the construction of a new U.S. military base protested outside the event and inside.

    Protestors demonstrate against the expansion of a U.S. military base in Vicenza, northern Italy, February 17,2007.
    Protesters converged on the small northern Italian city of Vicenza on Saturday to speak out against the planned expansion of a U.S. military base there.
    Italian government officials had warned of the risk of violence, but the demonstration was peaceful and without incident.

  • NAMES, PHOTO OF 13 CIAs Germany Just Issued Warrants For

    The arrest warrant issued in Germany today for 13 CIA employees has not been made public, but here are the names that will appear on it anyway. Most if not all are aliases, although the first names of the three pilots probably are correct.
    The warrants are for the kidnaping and torture by U.S. Government agents of Khalid el-Masri. El-Masri was on vacation in Macedonia when he was kidnapped and transported to a CIA-run "black site" in Afghanistan. After several months of confinement in (…)

    ROME (ANSA) - A controversial docu-film which accuses former premier Silvio Berlusconi’s Forza Italia party of election fraud sold out within hours of going on sale in Italian newsstands on Friday. The film, Uccidete la Democrazia! (Killing Democracy!), came out on DVD with left-wing political weekly Diario but all 100,000 copies were immediately snapped up.
    Diario said it had printed a further 50,000 copies which would go on sale on Saturday.
