2 commentsDisowning Conservative Politics, Evangelical Pastor Rattles Flock By Laurie Goodstein Published: July 30, 2006
MAPLEWOOD, Minn. - Like most pastors who lead thriving evangelical megachurches, the Rev. Gregory A. Boyd was asked frequently to give his blessing - and the church’s - to conservative political candidates and causes.
The requests came from church members and visitors alike: Would he please announce a rally against gay marriage during services? Would he introduce a politician (…) -
Stop the Bleeding
29 July 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentSlogans for Dems:
Stop the Bleeding. Start the Healing. Vote Democratic.
Restore Sanity. Vote Democratic.
Now all you condescending, cynical naysayers don’t have to waste your breath by saying how the Dems are no different, blah, blah. What I want to see used by Dems is language that is effective. It may already be too late but I’ll try anyway.

Send in the UN
24 July 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
So, Republicans have nothing to hide, do they? In that case, and I’m not joking, I think we should have the UN monitor the November 06 US elections. It’s a neutral party, and the chances of a fair fight would vastly improve. Foreign nations know the score. Now it’s up to them to let Americans in on the truth!

24 July 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
by David Bacon
Huge national demonstrations in Mexico are now demanding a recount of the votes cast in the presidential election, tainted by allegations of vote fraud.
Mexico’s wealthiest families have a lot to lose. All benefited from Mexico’s conservative economic reforms, which the leading candidate, Felipe Calderon of the conservative National Action Party, vows to continue. The Villareals’ Grupo Villacero, for instance, was virtually given the huge Sicartsa steel mill by the (…) -

He also has written a book "Crimes Against Nature: How George W. Bush & His Corporate Pals Are Plundering the Country and Hijacking our Democracy [5]". How To Pre-Empt A "November Surprise"
20 July 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
How To Pre-Empt A "November Surprise" By Mark Crispin Miller July 18, 2006 If the GOP should lose the House and/or the Senate on Election Day, they will pick out a handful of the "closest" races—as many as they need to hang on to majority control—and start to scream like hell about ELECTION FRAUD. That’s right: the major perpetrators of such fraud will cast themselves as victims of the very crime that put them where they are, and charge the Democrats with having used the very tactics (…)

The Stolen Election Of 2004. The Numbers Simply Do Not Add Up
17 July 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
3 commentsThe Stolen Election Of 2004 The Numbers Simply Do Not Add Up By Michael Parenti July 13, 2006 The 2004 presidential contest between Democratic challenger Senator John Kerry and the Republican incumbent, President Bush Jr., amounted to another stolen election. This has been well documented by such investigators as Rep. John Conyers, Mark Crispin Miller, Bob Fitrakis, Harvey Wasserman, Bev Harris, and others. Here is an overview of what they have reported, along with observations of my own. (…)

Activists Sue To Block Electronic Voting
17 July 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
Activists Sue To Block Electronic Voting By The Associated Press July 13, 2006 at 3:31 ET Computerized voting was supposed to be the cure for ballot fiascos such as the 2000 presidential election, but activist groups say it has only worsened the problem and they’ve gone to court across the country to ban the new machines.
Lawsuits have been filed in at least nine states, alleging that the machines are wide open to computer hackers and prone to temperamental fits of technology that have (…) -
Mexicans put us to shame in fighting for a fair election..
15 July 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
by Mary MacElveen
The United States of America always prides herself as being the land of democracy, but when it comes to elections we fail on so many fronts. Either Americans are too apathetic to vote, or worse those that do vote wonder if their vote even counted through the use of computerized voting machines. When many feel that an election has been stolen from the people, we wonder when the people shall rise up in protest.
As I was looking at these AP photos showing the mass (…)
