What is Radio Venezuela Live?
Radio Venezuela Live is a radio station that transmits over the Internet. It was founded by a group of internationalists based in Caracas and some of Venezuela’s other large cities. The aim was to provide on-going objective information about the true situation in Venezuela during the on the constitutional reform referendum in December 2007. That broadcast was followed by a special programme “Bolivia” when the illegal referendum on the autonomy statutes was held in the Santa Cruz department in Bolivia. Radio Venezuela Live is an internet broadcasting station which, so far, functions sporadically and when appropriate. It broadcast mostly in English and French, but extends it coverage by broadcasting in Arabic and Portuguese.
Why did we start up Radio Venezuela Live?
The members of Radio Venezuela Live —all of whom are internationalists who are closely following the democratic process underway in Venezuela— have seen how the media’s lies about the situation in which we live and work have become common currency. With the aim of re-establishing the objectivity so sadly lacking in the huge corporate media, Radio Venezuela Live offers you reports from its network of analysts, on-the-spot reporters and correspondents, all direct from Venezuela.
