Rally held in Allentown PA calling to Impeach Bush
by Open-Publishing - Tuesday 7 June 20059 comments
Rally in Allentown PA, Monday, June 6th, calling to Impeach Bush due to information in The Downing Street Memo, drew approximately 50 protesters.
150+ flyers were handed out containing information on the memo.
It was a great, enthusiastic event with lots of car honking showing support for our cause! News was covered by 2 local TV stations, one of which even mentioned downingstreetmemo.com website to viewers!

Thank you for your efforts to educate and invigorate American citizens. It is a certainty they will not learn the awful truth about Bush & Co. from the mainstream media.
Wherever I happen to be: at the grocery store, gas station, car wash, etc., I let people know the truth. Surprisingly, 75% of the time people are relieved to finally talk about what concerns them in regards to the government.
I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan and had hoped to join you on June 6, however, it was not possible for me to make it, however, I was with you in spirit yesterday. If we keep pounding away we will make dents, of that I am certain.
The best scenario I can envision is one whereby Congressional Republicans will start turning on the neocons and join ranks with the Democrats. John Conyers is a hero and we need so many more like him. Also, it is my understanding that Sen. John Kerry intends to speak out about the Downing Street Memo this week. I am most anxious to hear how that goes.
God bless!

You can’t fix a problem until you first KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS! That is the biggest problem of all in the USA- brainwashed for 50 years by TV news, and apparently enjoying it. USA people don’t want to know the facts. They like being lied to. You think not? When how else could Christianity be so successful? Hey, it’s great people care enough to get out on the street and make some noise and TRY to send a message. I salute those people, but even if they got their wish, and the House brought impeachment, and the Senate conviced King George, what good would it do? And even if the #2 crook, V.P, were included and he was bounced out as well, where would we be? The Speaker of the House becomes president, and what credentials does the Speaker have? When has HE followed the wisdom of Washington, Jefferson, Andrew Jackson? Not in your lifetime or mine!!!

Excellent article.
The realization that Bush lied the USA into war in Iraq really shouldn’t come as a surprise though to anyone who had earlier diligently looked at the entirely non-existing merits of the case for war.

And, finally, Wolfowitz, No 2 man in the Pentagon and, more importantly, the brains and chief strategist behind Bush’s undemocratic neoconservative revolution, frankly ADMITTED THAT WMD’s WERE NO MORE THAN A CONVENIENT EXCUSE FOR WAR:

The Bush administration focused on alleged weapons of mass destruction as the primary justification for toppling Saddam Hussein by force because it was politically convenient, a top-level official at the Pentagon has acknowledged.
The extraordinary admission comes in an interview with Paul Wolfowitz, the Deputy Defence Secretary, in the July issue of the magazine Vanity Fair.
"For bureaucratic reasons we settled on one issue, weapons of mass destruction, because it was the one reason everyone could agree on," Mr Wolfowitz tells the magazine."

Having grown up in Bethlehem ("next door") and having worked in Allentown, this gives me hope for an area of the country I had lost a lot of political hope for. I’m sure Paul Carpenter, a local conservative columnist, will have some choice words for you. Did a search on the Morning Call website, a local paper, for "impeach Bush". No results found. Pathetic.
Anyway, keep up the good fight.

This just goes to show that the mass media brain washing is not 100% effective.
Its good to see some Americans with brains, thought they were an endangered speicies.
