Prominent US Rabbi Denounces TIFF Protest

A prominent US Rabbi has entered the fray, strongly condemning a growing international protest against the Toronto International Film Festival’s decision to highlight Tel Aviv in its City To City program. Rabbi Marvin Hier, named by Newsweek as the most influential rabbi in America labelled the protest by more than 65 artists and filmmakers "nonsense" and "a recipe that calls for the destruction of the state of Israel". Canadian filmmakers including David Cronenberg, Norman Jewison and Robert Lantos also spoke out against the protest..
