We need to ask ourselves one essential question. Are we really living in a Democracy that is deserving of that noble title?
When machines are devised by corporations and used by our government that can be purposefully hacked without a trace to alter the Democratic process, are we living in a true Democracy? The Diebold Corporation doesn’t make mistakes like that by accident. Let us not forget that they are the ones who make the ATM machines that you get your pocket (…)

Let’s cut trough this deafening silence!

A violent attack is underway in Italy against the law n. 194 which regards the ‘norms protecting maternity and voluntary pregnancy termination’. The attempt is to curb the rights of women to self-determination and to diminish the responsibility women have long exercised and demonstrated in procreation.
We believe the 194 is a good law which enables women to use their freedom responsibly.
We believe this law has not boosted abortion but has granted the support (…) -

1 commentA Bush Spy Hearing in Congress? by Rep Louise Slaughter Mon Dec 19, 2005 at 04:57:07 PM PDT
First, please only recommend this diary if you think others should see the information I’m posting.
I wanted to share with you an email I sent out to my supporters all across the country tonight. Just like all of you here I am outraged about the reports of President Bush’s authorization of eavesdropping on American citizens. Unfortunately, we are all too numb to an Administration — which has (…) -
Bush aware of illegal behavior "A wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed"
20 December 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
4 commentsSo the first thing I want you to think about is, when you hear Patriot Act, is that we changed the law and the bureaucratic mind-set to allow for the sharing of information. It’s vital. And others will describe what that means.
Secondly, there are such things as roving wiretaps. Now, by the way, any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires-a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we’re talking about chasing down (…) -

Congressman calls for Bush impeachment
U.S. Rep. John Lewis said Monday in a radio interview that President Bush should be impeached if he broke the law in authorizing spying on Americans.
The Democratic senator from Georgia told WAOK-AM he would sign a bill of impeachment if one was drawn up and that the House of Representatives should consider such a move.
Lewis is among several Democrats who have voiced discontent with Sunday night’s television speech, where Bush asked Americans to (…) -
Bush Attempted to Talk New York Times Out of Running Illegal Spying Story
20 December 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
9 commentsDec. 19, 2005 - Finally we have a Washington scandal that goes beyond sex, corruption and political intrigue to big issues like security versus liberty and the reasonable bounds of presidential power. President Bush came out swinging on Snoopgate-he made it seem as if those who didn’t agree with him wanted to leave us vulnerable to Al Qaeda-but it will not work. We’re seeing clearly now that Bush thought 9/11 gave him license to act like a dictator, or in his own mind, no doubt, like Abraham (…)

Bush spies on citizens, now will you impeach him????

12 commentsWhat more does anyone need? You do not negotiate with the devil. If the U.S. won’t act, maybe the world court will indict this rogue administration for crimes against humanity, war crimes, and violation of human rights and the Geneva Convention. How low can this country go? Feingold, time for full-court press. johnnybgood

George Bush Is The Law

By Peter Fredson
December 17, 2005
For several years when I looked at the daily news I was shocked by the arrogance and egomaniacal activity of George W. Bush. Almost daily he would commit some outrage against American values, democracy, freedom, civil rights, or Constitutional protections.
All this is done under the guise of protecting Americans from Terrorists. All this is done under constant references to 9/11 which supposedly give GWB some (…) -
Is Homeland Security for the USA or is it for the "HOMELAND" in the middle east.
16 December 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
4 commentsIn fact if you take the actual phrase "homeland" it would imply that who ever decided on this phrase did so to indicate in a subtle but direct way that this department was to serve directly under the authority of the executive with out regard to our congress or other national intelligence agencies in its scope of authority or ablities to act. In fact if you view the word "homeland" as just that a person using this phrase would use it to indicate a place other than the USA. Because the USA (…)

Green Party’s Kevin Zeese Has New Approach
16 December 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
Baltimore, MD - On a brutal night, Dec. 14, 2005, where the temperature hovered around the ultra-freezing 15 degree mark, the Green Party’s candidate for the U.S. Senate in Maryland, Kevin Zeese, was out on the campaign trail delivering his “for the people” message. He spoke at the “All People’s Congress” hall, which is located about a half mile from the now-razed Memorial Stadium, where the sports notables of yesteryear, like John Unitas, Lenny Moore, Brooks and Frank Robinson, once played.
