Debate 3 - John Kerry wins again, sweeps debates

John Kerry made history last night. He is the only Presidential candidate in
history to shut out an incumbent President three to zero in Presidential debates.
The faces of the Bush campaign people in the after debate discussion said it
all. Once the Gallup poll came out that showed Kerry won 52% to 39% their faces
dropped and they started attempting to downplay the effects of the debate on
the election. But, their words were inadequate to spin away what their expressions
clearly showed, defeat and failure, much like the administration and President
for whom they had become desperate protagonists. George W. Bush showed why his
administration has been such a failure. He cannot adequately conceive or articulate
plans or visions on the complex
issues facing this country today.

Presidential races involving an incumbent are fairly easy to
describe. Either the incumbent’s reign has been successful, and he
can run on his record, or it hasn’t been successful, and he has to
try and hide from it. Bush’s statement that his opponent "Can run but
he can’t hide" really speaks to Bush’s own problem regarding his
record. Getting back to last night’s debate, Bush tried his best to
talk about everything EXCEPT his record on the economy and foreign
policy. He talked about faith and his family, which is nice. There
are few leaders in history, even the most horrible, who couldn’t seem
cute and cuddly talking about faith and family, but everytime the
discussion turned to his record, Bush got hurt.

What this all amounts to is a clear signal that this is a President
who does not deserve another four years. John Kerry talked about a
different vision. His vision includes an administration that works
tirelessly to put Americans back to work. An administration that puts
Americans back to work not in low paying jobs, but in good paying
jobs like the kind that people had in the 90’s and lost during Bush’s
administration. John Kerry talked about an administration in which
the best minds are brought together to solve problems on social
security and healthcare under a President Kerry that has a keen
understanding of how this needs to be done. Kerry also talked about a
vision for an administration that is fiscally responsible and pays as
it goes and doesn’t pass on the cost of running the government to
future generations.

And what about Kerry’s beautiful retort to Bush’s statement on fiscal
responsibility. George Bush talking about fiscal responsibility is
like Tony Soprano talking about Law and Order. After compiling an
abysmal record of turning a Five trillion dollar surplus into a Three
trillion dollar deficit, how does Bush have the nerve to talk about
fiscal responsibility? It boggles the mind. It insults the American
people’s intelligence. Luckily, we only have to endure this President
for another 19 days before we can vote to get him out of the White
House. As John Kerry said, help is on the way, and, speaking of
faith, Thank God.

  • Mr. Leser and I must have watched two different debates. G.T. NC

  • I am an American and I totally agree with everything you said. Some of us, the democrats don’t understand what is wrong with the other side. We can’t figure out how they cannot see what is going on. I think right now there is a tremendous effort going on by Democrats to change this. We thought we had won the last election but it was stolen by Bush and his cohorts. There is another aspect to all this, according to the report found on this page and many others found by doing a google search Bush Using Drugs. I am hoping many people will get on this story, His behaviour is very indicative of a person taking some kind of drugs, including the foam in the corner of his mouth. There is also the question of him being wired by that is far less serious than this.

    • Come now its no mystery why the Bushlovers can’t see what is going on...they do NOT WANT To. No other rational explaination. The Halliburton scandal is a typical example, Bushlovers claim they believe that no other comapny was qualified to do the job in Iraq....choosing to ignore that these contracts were awarded to Cheney’s company and no other companies were allowed to bid, obviously the 40 million dollars Halliburton paid Cheney 3 years earlier are more than being repaid at the taxpayers expense by Cheney securing these non bid contracts for his company, you would have to be a total dimwit to believe otherwise, and so many other instances of lying and corruption that a person would have to actively be ignoring the truth to endorse this behavior. So the only conclusion that we can come to is that these people just plain do not want to know the truth.

  • Wow! The left amaze me every time in how wrong they can be. I must have been watching another debate than Mr. Leser. I think the polls have proved that Mr. Bush was the clear winner of the debates. as usual, liberals are never connected on how mainstream Americans think. And, to counteract this ignorance, liberals claim that mainstream Americans are ignorant to what is going on. Well let me tell you where you are wrong. Mainstream Americans understand the threat that is prevelant in the world today. I don’t care why we went to war in Iraq, I am just glad we had a president that is strong enough to take the war back to the Islamic world that spawns terrorism. I know that not all Muslim people are terrorists, so spare me the comments. The reality is that until the moderate Muslim takes back his religon, We must fight this extremism. I would rather use the military, who is trained for this mission, than use police back home. This is not the best forum to have this discussion, but suffice to say, I will be glad when Mr. Bush wins in a couple of weeks and the world learns that Americans are behind their leader and his actions.

  • How does one determine the "winner" of a debate? What is the rubric that you use? It is all in the eye of the beholder.

Anyway, how ever you want it-------you can have the debates, if you insist. We’ve got the White House.

In any case, pray that America will be America in the very best sense of our tradition.
