A BUZZFLASH GUEST CONTRIBUTION by Cindy Sheehan
Little did I know, as Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-Oh) and I were driving through the streets of a Cleveland, Ohio, another American city that looks like it is preparing for the onslaught of a very cold winter on that gray morning, that he would be presenting me with a clear, reasonable, and obvious plan for bringing American troops out what is rapidly becoming total anarchy in Iraq.
The previous evening, Dennis and I, both spoke at the (…)

Open Letter to Reps Pelosi and Conyers: We the People are Setting the Table Now
13 November 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
12 commentsDear Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Conyers,
I am writing this open letter to you both on the day after Veteran’s Day. A day that has so much more meaning to me since my son Casey was KIA in Iraq for absolutely no reason but to line the pockets of the war machine. I cried in front of his symbolic tombstone at Arlington Northeast in Philadelphia and I dreamed of him before I awakened. Casey’s "tombstone" was planted in the ground directly across from Liberty Hall which was the birth place of our (…) -

We Want our Country Back and The Troops Home from Iraq Massive Sit-in, White House November 7th and 8th
A message from Cindy Sheehan:
Good comes from the bottom up---crap rolls down hill. I am tired of getting crapped on by our government---when will it be enough for you? We are covered with crap and our leaders aren’t going to clean it up---we have to. Gold Star Families for Peace is planning on convening on the White House on election day and the day after (Nov. 7 & 8).
We hope (…) -
Mamas, Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Soldiers
17 July 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
Mamas, Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Soldiers By Cindy Sheehan July 13, 2006 As of today, the War Department lists 2544 as the number of murdered troops in Iraq. Dozens of innocent Iraqis are being killed due to this war crime every day. More than 80 Iraqis were killed in Baghdad alone on July 9th: dozens of people just in one city on one day who would be alive if not for BushCo.
I don’t know what number Casey was. I have seen people say 614, I have seen people say 714. It doesn’t (…) -
Join Cindy Sheehan at Camp Casey 2 in Washington DC
6 July 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentCindy Sheehan is on a hunger strike at the mall in Washington DC and she needs company!
Look at this beautiful park. Doesn’t this look like the perfect place for an extended protest?
"I often get told that I should "love America, or leave it." This is ridiculous logic and empty rhetoric. I love the country that I was born in and I love Americans. I am an American and so are my children. Casey was born and died a fine American who was abused by the same leaders that are abusing the (…) -
Starving for Attention: Troops Home Fast, Day One
5 July 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
It is midnight of the 5th of July and 24 hours since thousands of us began the Troops Home Fast.
Some of us who will be fasting completely until the troops come home; some will be on liquids only until the troops come home; some will fast for 2 weeks, 2 days; or like me, until at least September 21st.
Hundreds of peace-loving and dedicated people joined we organizers of the fast outside of the White House during the past two eventful and event-filled days. The Granny Peace Brigade walked (…) -

“This war is a crime,” the icon mother told a crowd of clapping, cheering protesters.
“We represent millions of Americans who withdraw their support from this government.”
Millions of American have just watched in disgust as our congress ignored the will of the American people and voted against setting a timetable for withdrawing our troops from Iraq. Who (…) -

Conversations with Cindy Sheehan
23 April 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsRecently there has been some debate between Cindy Sheehan and Scott Ritter on the success (or lack there of) of the peace movement. Cindy Sheehan took offence at Ritter dissing the peace movement, but as everyone can see, we have gotten nowhere. A clear majority are now against this war. A clear majority want Bush impeached immediately. We are beyond critical mass, and yet the war drums are now beating for Iran. What has gone wrong?
While the ’peace movement’ is distracted by talking (…)
